The history of the Faculty of Media Engineering and Technology dates back to the establishment of the College of Television and Cinema in 1970, which began its work under the name of the Department of Technical Affairs. The department was responsible for planning and implementing training courses for students who, after graduation, worked in various technical and engineering units of the IRIB. Following the promotion of the IRIB faculty to university in 2012, the Faculty of Engineering was established with three specialized departments: Audio Engineering, Video Engineering, and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the students were accepted in three associate, bachelor’s and master’s levels. The Faculty of Media Engineering and Technology has unique courses, laboratories and studios that guarantee the development of scientific and professional abilities in talented students of all three levels and in different minors in order to enter the field of professional technical and engineering activities of the IRIB.
