IRIB University

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting University (IRIBU) is a public university affiliated with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting organization, that operates under the license and regulation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

IRIBU is the leading academic institution specializing in media and broadcasting in Iran and one of the first of its kind in Asia with a history that spans five decades.

The institution was established in 1969 as the School of Higher Education in Cinema & Television, which was renamed IRIB Faculty in 1982.

Nowadays, IRIBU presents courses from a wide range of specialties in the field of media leading to Masters Degrees in 9 fields.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting University has provided education and training for artists, journalists and technicians who work for Iranian Radio and Television. The university is committed to publishing high quality scholarly contributions in the areas of media production, media engineering and technology, communication, journalism and Philosophy of Radio and TV.

Two leading academic journals titled “Audio & Visual Media” and “Interdisciplinary studies of Media and Communication” accredited by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology are published by IRIB University.

More than 1000 students are studying at this university and more than 120 full-time and part-time academics are actively participating in the educational curriculum and research programs of the university.

Due to the uniqueness of IRIBU s educational services in the Middle East, The IRIBU welcomes a number of international students from neighboring countries every year.
